Bill Inhelder Hoover High 1956-1988 After some 36 years of classroom teaching, I retired in 1988. The following five years I worked as a consultant to the district including writing curriculum projects and in-service workshops. After that I did some long-time substituting at Hoover. Thereafter Eleanor and I traveled to Europe visiting my aunt and cousins in Switzerland and spending some time in the south of France. We were very active in the Elderhostel program and signed up for 12 of their programs over the years. Some five years ago Eleanor was diagnosed with Parkinson's and since then we have had to limit our trips to family gatherings. About 6 years ago I began tutoring math to middle and high school Burbank students at home and about the same time began tutoring math students at Woodbury University Learning Center. Tutoring provides the intellectual activity which helps balance the activities of a care-giver. I still look back with fondness to the earlier teaching days at Hoover in the old building where I would often comment to my colleagues how wonderful it was to be teaching at Hoover and then I would add - and they are paying me to do so!
