On Sunday, April 3, 2016, John (Jack) Sowers, Hoover Class of 1962, passed away. He went in to the hospital for a procedure on Friday the 1st. He was released on Saturday. On Sunday morning things weren't right, and his wife, Linda called 911. He went to the hospital, and things didn't go well at all. He died Sunday afternoon (April 3-2016) from a massive heart attack.

It is with such complete and utter sadness that I must tell you of the sudden passing of my husband, best friend and life guide. John has been the love of my life for the past 27 years and I don't know if I will ever get over the emptiness I feel without him by my side. He was the most generous, compassionate and loyal friend to me and so many others. He will be missed and cherished always. I will love him completely and forever.
