Bio

After the 83 reunion I got involved with the publishing industry and eventually owned a number of magazines in Utah and Oregon. I married for the second time to Holly Elertson in August of 1985. In 1985 I served as President of the Viet Nam Veterans Memorial Committee for the state of Utah. The memorial sits on the Capital grounds. Holly and I each had two daughters and it made nice blended family. In 1989 Holly and I are moved to Roseburg Oregon and now live in Albany Oregon. I am retired for the second time. I spend my spare time working with the Marine Corps League and also the Young Marine Unit we started here in Albany. The kids will keep me young. My passion is still riding my motorcycle all over the country. I ride a 1500 "tricked" Honda Gold Wing. It took first prize last year at the Baker City Rally. My other passion is my grandchildren, two grand-sons and two grand-daughters. December 2009, more stuff. Since last editorial: In summer of 2008 I biked out to Sturgis and back. 3,000 miles of drop dead gorgeous country. While there I sold my two wheeler and bought a "tyke". Something about a full knee replacement helped the decision. Spring of 2009 I went on a 6,000 mile bike trip. Covered Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and back. God does live in those mountains. Took the better part of a month. Left Oregon the end of April and it snowed off and on until we came out of the mountains west of Denver. When we hit New Mexico it was over 110. The best part of the trip was having my 13 year old grandson finish the last 1200 miles with me. His mother ask what I wanted to take him for so long for? I told her, "someone has to teach him to drink beer and chase women". I still have a sore arm.
