Occupation: Property owner/Mgr Spouse: Ernie Fasano Children: Erik La Com - 27; Kari La Com – 25 Hobbies: Genealogy, scrapbooking, stamping and altered books, keep me off the streets and out of trouble. I bought a home in La Jolla in 1992. Had always wanted to return to the San Diego area where I had graduated from then, San Diego State in 1968. In ’81 with the help of my parents before they died, I discovered my natural mother and father and a full sister two years behind me at Toll Jr. H.S. I also found that my natural mother had 8 sisters and one brother all living in the New Jersey area. One of the aunts at 76 years of age, accompanied me to Poland 2 yrs ago to see where my mother and our family were born and lived. (My mother is the only one of 10 children that was born in Poland and she is the middle sister of the 9 girls). I have written a 500 pg. book with footnotes, documents and photos of my Polish side of the family. I gave it to my natural mother for her 80th birthday. Next yr. for my 60th B-Day my husband and I are off to Italy to see where my natural father was born. I am an illegitimate Po-Wop. (My hands and mouth are Italian and my brain is Polish – it explains everything). In Spring of 2001 my daughter, Kari La Com, almost lost her right leg while riding a beach bike and encountering a jeep head on in total daylight about mile from our home, (tonnage always rules). The leg is almost healed and she can once again snow board, play beach volleyball and roller blade with minimum pain and discomfort. She continues to work in accounting at the Salk Institute in La Jolla after graduating from USD, the Catholic University in San Diego. In the Spring of 2003, my son, Erik La Com, was part of the invading forces in Iraq. He is a Captain/Pilot in the U.S. Army and flies the Apache helicopter. (The two POW pilots were from the 1st Calvary, 227th from Fort Hood along with Erik). Erik’s wife, Shannon, is also a Captain/Pilot in the Army and flies the Blackhawk helicopter. They both graduated from West Point where Shannon was Captain of the soft ball team and Erik played on the winning Black Knights football team that went to the Independence Bowl his junior year. Ernie Fasano, my husband, is retired from the building industry. He is currently building and fabricating parts for a large block aluminum engine for his Corvette. It’s his second engine that he has built. (He’s a lot brighter than me).
